Contents production

InfoPortugal has specialized in geographic data, having produced the most complete and detailed geographic data base of Portugal.

This data base was built during the last five years and includes the territory cartography in different scales and points of interest highly classified, with detailed information, photographs, geographical co-ordenates, in the following categories:

 

• Services: Health, Education, Security, Local Administration, Justice, Registry Office, Transports, Utilities;
• Commerce: Shopping moll; Supermarket; Superstore; Mini-market; Retail sector;
• Tourism and leisure; Lodging; Gastronomy; Tourism Agencies; History (villages, castles, cathedrals, arqueology, museums, etc), Culture (museums, art galleries, libraries, workmanship, ethnography, etc), Sport (golf, swimming-pools, pavilions, beaches, hunting, …), Eco-Tourism (mountains, foresight, tracks, protecting landscape, gardens, lakes, …), Events (movies, theatres, expositions, pilgrimage, championships, …).

The contents have been used in several projects, such as:

• NDrive support, making sure an objective differentiation due to international competition in Portugal (see www.ndriveweb.com );
• Production of touristic contents, including actualized maps in many formats with text and image, pocket books; guides and unfolded papers, adjusted for tourist spreading of municipalities or regions;
• License of contents to a large group of clients with good references in Portugal;
  

 

Technology differentiation

InfoPortugal has as privileged partners telecommunications operators, including Vodafone with Portal Live, Optimus with Portal Zone and Portugal Telecom with Portal 118, where implements software solutions to access to contents through Internet and mobile phone, giving the contents in a distributed way.

InfoPortugal also develops software solutions for contents visualization, including the following ones: 

Map Adventure: software for Pocket PC, in a partnership with Instituto Geográfico do Exército (IGEOE), that allows the visualization in PDA of raster information from IGEOE, with different levels of zoom, and GPS navigation with the chance to create tracklogs in several formats;

Visualization of 3D geographic data contents: software to create, manipulate and edit tri-dimensional, real and detailed scenes in local or remote mode (Internet/Intranet), with effectiveness and rapidity; once the tri-dimensional model is on, the user can move through the field in an authentic interactive fly in any speed, high or inclination, or also use the navigation assistance (menus and control panel); all the 2D/3D information contained in the model can be connected to any type of archive: video, sound, html or data base.
